What was the job?

Wooden floors require more in-depth upkeep every now and then in order to keep them in prestige condition and appearance. Challenges

When it comes to wood floor repairs that involve the replacement of some of the floorboards that are way too damaged, there is always a risk of not being able to find new floorboards that match the old ones completely. However, we work with a wide network of suppliers and manufacturers of new and reclaimed floorboards, so we almost always are able to find an exact match, if not very similar floorboards. After sanding and refinishing the entire floor, there is impossible to tell if some of the floorboards have been replaced with new ones.

What we did

We have started this project by replacing all the floorboards that are too damaged and distressed, which means they are beyond repair and nothing else can be done in order to save them. Once the new floorboards are fitted down in their exact spots, we have filled the gaps between the floorboards and by this, we have increased the insulation capabilities of the floor along with its durability and hard-wearing power. Next, we have sanded the surface of the floor. Thanks to sanding, we can strip off the old finish and dirt build-up and remove all of the minor and major surface imperfections and issues, including scratches, marks, dents, stains, etc. To wrap the project off, we finished the floor with a couple of layers of high-quality and highly protective, elegant lacquer finish.
